Poppy Gauss is an educator and fine art photographer. She has a PhD in Art Theory, Aesthetics & Philosophy from the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts, a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and Bachelor of Arts degree from the Inter Arts Center at San Francisco State University. Poppy has spent years investigating, educating and creating fine art. Poppy’s interest in the realm of fine art is centered in the visual aspect of story telling. Her photographs explore concepts related to the fantastic narrative. Her work utilizes advanced compositing techniques, lighting, location scouting, costume and all aspects of art direction. Thematically the work references cinema, literature, fairytales and myths. She is a highly skilled and creative fine art photographer and educator, whose commitment and dedication are evident in every endeavor she undertakes.
